How Validation Works

Every FX rate goes through a rigorous multi-step validation process before being published on-chain.

01

Multi-Source Ingestion

Each operator independently fetches FX rates from 10+ institutional data sources including central banks, market data providers, and liquidity venues.

02

Independent Validation

Operators run ML-powered anomaly detection and statistical validation on their data independently, flagging outliers and suspicious patterns.

03

Consensus Aggregation

Validated rates are submitted to the verification coordinator. A minimum of 2-of-3 operator agreement is required before any rate is published.

04

Confidence Scoring

The aggregated rate receives a confidence score (0-100) based on source agreement, data freshness, and historical consistency.

05

On-Chain Publication

Only rates meeting the minimum confidence threshold (70%) are published on-chain to Avalanche C-Chain as the canonical source of truth.

Operator Network

AFXO currently operates with 3 independent validator nodes. Each operator runs identical validation software but fetches data independently, ensuring no single point of failure.

Future: Community Validators

We plan to open the validator network to community operators who can stake tokens to participate in rate validation and earn rewards.

  • Run your own validator node
  • Stake tokens for validation rights
  • Earn rewards for accurate validation
  • Slashing for malicious behavior

Community validator program coming 2026. Join our mailing list for updates.

Security & Transparency

Every rate published by AFXO is fully auditable. We believe in radical transparency for financial infrastructure.

Multi-Signature Security

On-chain updates require multi-signature authorization. No single key can push malicious rates.

Full Audit Trail

Every rate update includes source data, timestamps, and confidence factors. Fully reproducible from stored inputs.

Rate Change Limits

On-chain contracts enforce maximum per-update change limits to prevent flash manipulation attacks.
